Mitra Roti Bank Food for daily wage earners affected by Covid-19

The funds shall be used to purchase raw food,  cook and distribute cooked food to covid 19 affected families living in slums & district hospital also in Balangir,Nayagarh & Nuapada District in Odisha State. The approximate cost is 1000-1500 per day for food.

People living in resettlement colonies have been hit hard by the COVID 19 pandemic. They are badly affected due to lockdowns and illness that have led to the loss of livelihoods. The resettlement colony that we work in has about 15000 residents with most being unskilled daily wagers.

There are about 100 COVID 19 patients at the moment isolated at home with total family members isolated being about 150. With the help of local youths, we are striving to provide meals to these persons at home so that they stay safe and the infection does not spread. We have been doing this for the past two weeks, but now the drain on resources is becoming too much to be afforded by a small group. Two meals per day per person cost about INR 50/-. A donation of 5000/- will result in approximately 200 meals being served to the needy. in the past 7 weeks we have served more than 25000 meals.

We request assistance from well-meaning individuals who would like to help their fellow humans in times of distress. Let us donate so that the infected can stay home and prevent the spread of infection.
