โ€œThe Jinendra Jeevdaya Kendra was founded to give animals a second chance in life. Each of them holds a special place in my heart because they were saved from the agony of slaughter. Those animals sentenced to death or slaughter will find a forever home with us. We are collaborating with slaughterhouses in Chennai to save pregnant, mother, and baby cows, as well as old cows.โ€ Dr. Shiranee Pereira, Co-Founder, People For Animals, Chennai.

With over 192 million cattle, India has the most of any country. The tale of India's sacred cows, on the other hand, is tragic to say the least. The atrocities of the country's slaughterhouses are real; cows are killed cruelly for their skin, meat, and bones, despite the fact that slaughtering them is banned in many states.

At the Jinendra Jeevdaya Kendra, we offer these animals a secure haven in which they can recover from their previous traumas and live out their lives in peace.ย  By collaborating with slaughterhouses in Chennai, our animal shelter provides nutritious food, clean water, medical attention, and lifetime accommodation to abandoned, injured, and slaughterhouse-rescued cows, bulls, and calves.

ย

With thousands of innocent cows abandoned on the streets of India, many of them are elderly, abandoned or injured. Unfortunately, some of these abandoned cows end up in the hands of butchers.

ย

Though many slaughterhouses in the country are vet-certified, the conditions under which the animals are slaughtered, skinned, and cut are unmonitored, according to a report by the Times of India. A report published in the British newspaper The Independent, also stated that hundreds of thousands of cows are illegally smuggled into Bangladesh from India each year.

Laws to make sure the animals are transported under relatively humane conditions are frequently flouted, resulting in extensive suffering of these animals.

By participating in our campaign, you are assisting us in spreading the word about the heinous, cold-blooded attitude at the heart of modern meat production.

Over the years, we have rescued and rehabilitated hundreds of abandoned and injured animals. However, animal shelters like ours, which rely heavily on donations, have been severely harmed by the COVID-19 lockdown. As a result, during these trying times your assistance is critical, and any contribution will be greatly appreciated.

Your donations will be used to further our mission and improve the quality of life for these sacred animals in their forever home.
