Revive the lost temple

Srinagar is a city in Pauri Garhwal district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The ancient Srinagar city was destroyed in the Gohna Lake dam-burst which destroyed all the relics in the town.

Today the town is an important cultural and educational center. Being placed in central Garhwal at a moderate height, it is an important Valley Bazar in the hills. It has a number of temples and monuments and places.

The local pujaris and the people are of the opinion that Adishankara had established many temples in Srinagar which during the course of time disappeared.

But the footprints of Adi Shankara is still prevealent across many temples in Srinagar.

One such temple is located in main market of srinagar, Laxmi Narayan is the diety worshipped here and the local poojari says that Adi Shankara had installed a stone deity in the temple.

There are many such temples in devbhoomi, Uttrakhand which lost its existence during the course of time.

Along with bunch of local people and youths we have decided to take the first step and celebrate Sri Krishna Janmasthami in the land marked by the footprints of Adi Shankara to make a humble effort to revive the culture back to it's original glory eventually.

We now request you also support us in this cause. Like a drop in the ocean, by your small little contributions we can make this a grand success. Hope you will consider this humble appeal of ours.

Sanatana Dharma has seen it's tough phases a lot of times. Krishna has assured us that he will come time and again to uphold the Dharma. We are on one such mission to bring back the culture in the land of Sri Adi Shankara at Srinagar, Uttarakhand.
