Help generate funds for distributiing grocery kits to Temple priests

HELP RAISE FUNDS TO PROVIDE RATION TO TEMPLE PRIESTS

TEAM IGNITE is a group of dedicated volunteers who go the extra mile to help those in need. 

In the face of this global pandemic, countless lives have been uprooted, especially that of the vulnerable and marginalised. These mainly include those without shelters and workers from both within and outside the state, who have lost their jobs in these hard times.

Since the 23rd of March this year, TEAM IGNITE has provided 23000 food packets in Chennai and Tiruvallur, provided 39000 meals through 5 Amma canteens,  distributed  9820 ration kits, engaged local tailors whose businesses had slowed considerably, in making close to 9000 masks, and also distributed 90 litres of sanitizers. During this time, we have also printed and distributed 10,000 leaflets on COVID 19 awareness. So far, funds were collected largely through personal networks of families and friends.  

Now, TEAM IGNITE is looking at distributing grocery kits to support families of 200 Temple Priests. With temples closed for well over 4 months and no other form of livelihood, the priests are facing a in a huge deluge. Since they also feel uncomfortable asking for help from others, their issues don’t come out in the open as well. We at TEAM IGNITE hence feel appropriate to help these Temple Priests in their time of distress. 


We intend readying about 200 kits each containing 7kgs of raw rice, 2 kgs of atta, 1 kg of toor dal, 1 lit of oil and 100g of coriander, 100g of mustard, 100g of red chilli powder, 3 soaps, 2 detergents and 2 sanitary napkin packs.This kit costing Rs. 800 can ideally take care  of 1 family for 4 weeks.

We kindly request you to kindly take this appeal in right earnest and donate for this noble cause. Rs.1000 donated would help in giving rations for a family of 4 members for 4 weeks, Rs. 2000 for 2 such families and so on.

No amount is either small or big. We accept anything and everything. Our goal is to meet the target and everything counts.
