We are a team of 15 members and representatives of a Shaktipeeth in Nawada. We have jointly started this initiative on 25th March 2020 to support those people who are most affected by the current situation in the nearby villages.
Our Journey :
On 24th March 2020, a nationwide lockdown was announced in India. Anything that has never happened before. Although this lockdown was necessary for saving lives there were many issues that had come into existence since then. We have been engaged in many social welfare activities and thus we had to get on the field to support people.
We collected all the funds of the temple that was received as donations and used them to buy ration kits for more than 1500 families. Each ration kit that we distribute is good for a family of four people for a month which costs Rs. 1000 per ration kit.
How are we distributing these ration kits?
With the help of the local authorities and volunteers across these villages to help us distribute ration kits timely while adhering to the social distancing norms, to ensure the safety of everyone involved in implementing the distribution process.
Why we are raising funds?
We have been distributing ration kits from 25th March 2020 each alternative day. We have used all the funds of the temple and now we are facing a lack of funds. With the extension of lockdown to nineteen more days, it is really a challenging situation for the poor and needy people to earn food for their families. We are receiving a large number of requests from the surrounding villages.
How will the funds be used?
The funds will be used to provide ration kits to the villages namely Dhamol, Hisua, Eknar, Baliyari, Dhanawan, Dihuri, Manawan, Mahdewa, Karamchak and Bagodar. These ration kits will include Rice, lentils, salt, sugar, oil, flour, potatoes and onions that will cost only Rs 1000 per family for a month. We will provide ration to 250 families in each of the mentioned villages who are mostly affected by the lockdown.
Hence, Rs. 1000 * 2500 = Rs. 25,00,000 (Ration for one month to 2500 families)
